1. Certificates of Origin
As a service, the Aptos Chamber of Commerce will validate general Certificates of Origin and NAFTA Certificates of Origin for export packages.
The following requirements must be met for validating Certificates of Origin:
1. The company must provide a letter to the Chamber to be kept on file. The letter must be on the company's letterhead and state where the company is located, number of years in business, what they export, etc. A corporate officer must sign it.
2. The Certificate of Origin must be filled out completely by the company. The Chamber staff will not validate incomplete Certificates. Certificates may be down loaded online here: NAFTA ( Mexico, Canada) or GENERAL .
3. Forms must be filled out, and brought to the Chamber office, together with the company's letter, to be signed and stamped. When presenting a Certificate of Origin and its letter for file, staff will emboss the Certificate with the Chamber notorial stamp.
If the company is a member of the Chamber the service is free for this service.
If the company is not a member of the Chamber, the charge is $5.00 for each page of the Certificate of Origin.
The Aptos Chamber of Commerce does not stamp any document other than Certificates of Origin. If another form is presented, the C.E.O. or the Office Manager will determine the procedure.
*It is advisable to phone the Chamber to ensure an office manager is on-site to stamp certificates, 831-688-1467.
